This role is responsible for overseeing operations across assigned region, leading engineering teams, maintaining client relationships, and driving business growth. This role ensures compliance with quality standards, fosters collaboration, and provides strategic leadership to achieve organizational objectives.
The role also involves establishing and overseeing engineering procedures, driving technological advancements, providing technical expertise to resolve complex issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, optimizing engineering processes, promoting innovation and enhancing efficiency.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, extensive industry knowledge, and excellent leadership skills to inspire and mentor the engineering team. Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and guidance to engineers and support staff, ensuring effective hiring, training, and performance management.
- Oversee multiple projects through project managers to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Work in close coordination with the US teams and support them to prepare proposals, monitor project budgets, and implement cost-saving measures to maintain profitability.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards through quality control processes and inspections.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges associated with projects, including technical, financial, and legal risks.
- Develop contingency plans and monitor project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Serve as a mentor, offering technical support, resolving complex engineering issues, and providing guidance on innovative solutions and emerging technologies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and efficiency enhancement, and lead initiatives to drive continuous improvement within the company, especially as it relates to technical expertise and process.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members, promoting their growth and technical proficiency.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong project management skills and experience are crucial for this role. A track record of successfully managing multiple projects, coordinating resources, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, client relationship management, and sales is valuable. Candidates should have a track record of identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and driving revenue growth.
- Prior experience in a leadership or managerial role is preferred. Candidates should have a proven ability to lead and motivate a team, manage performance, and foster a collaborative work environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and communication with internal and external project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
Education, Experience and Licensure
- Must have Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
- 20–25 years of progressive structural engineering experience, including project management.
- Professional Engineering (PE) or C.Eng. License required.
