vConstruct, a Pune based Construction Technology company is looking for highly motivated individuals who have an interest in Construction Technology, especially BIM and prefabrication, and want to build a career in Architectural systems. These individuals are expected to have an eye for details and a comprehensive understanding of various elements including Drywall framing, MEP systems, and finishes, as well as basic understanding of prefabricated products. Upon successful joining, the individual will be provided with initial training courses and on-the-job training to help them succeed in this role.


Responsibility and Focus Areas:

Light Gauge Steel Modeler is accountable for creating high-quality deliverables and outputs on schedule, acting independently to manage the assigned work and deliverables, work closely with the project lead and project manager to plan project implementation.

Indicative responsibilities include:

• Carefully study project documents - drawings, details, RFIs, and addendums.  Identify missing information, discrepancies, and constructability issues. 

• Develop high-quality, accurate 3D models for Light Gauge steel using Revit (MWF)/Tekla software and applying knowledge of Light gauge steel systems, constructability, and previous experience.

• Participate in trade coordination meetings to identify and incorporate model changes.

• Create accurate LOD 500 Fabrication level 2D drawing deliverables from the model for the use of Layout on the field and fabrication at the shop floor.

• Generate reports for use in Fabrication, Procurement, logistics, and Installation on site.

• Check the quality of work for accuracy before submission to client teams.  Meet quality metrics established for the project.

• Project set-up, including model set-up in Revit/Tekla.

• Architectural modeling of LOD 400 and more, with different intents & deliverables such as exterior facades, building virtual mockups, pursuit models, and quantity take-offs often preparing framing-fit models.

• Execute model-based schedule take-offs for different materials and systems

• Develop shop drawings, and finish details for approval and installation.

• Manage and support prefabrication of exterior façades for large-scale US-based projects from supporting design development to installation, absorbed in GC/ subcontractor support.

• Communicate with clients regarding project deliverables. Most client meetings will happen between 5 PM and 10 PM IST.


General:

• Quality Assurance - Check the quality of work for accuracy before submission to client teams. Meet quality metrics established for the project.

• Understanding any new scope of work, processes, and platforms coming up with a workflow, and documenting it once approved by the project team. This can be followed by training concerning team members.

• Creating/developing best practices and workflow and sharing them with team members

• Training and coaching other team members, doing technical training of new hires.

• Ability to learn quickly and independently with minimal supervision.

• A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude

• Effective participation in a team environment

• Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills.

• Familiarity with construction documents and terminology

• With an outlook to find ways for innovation, and optimization in day-to-day tasks.

Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for a self-driven, detail-oriented, collaborative team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce high-quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:

• Passion for construction processes, BIM, and relevant tools and construction technology.

• Diploma or higher degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or closely related field.

• Knowledge of the Light Gauge Steel Framing process including design, detailing, procurement, fabrication, and installation using BIM / VDC processes.

• Working knowledge of structural codes and construction methods used in the USA.

• Over 2 years of hands-on experience in working in Revit & MWF Plug-in or any other 3D modeling tools for LGSF modeling and drawing generation, drawing template settings, and custom components.

• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural, structural, and civil construction documents.

• Strong communication skills.

• Experience with client relation management a plus.
