vConstruct is looking for a senior construction planning manager who is passionate about enabling predictable outcomes on construction projects through better plans by leveraging technology.
Senior Construction Planning Manager role will be pivotal to scaling up vConstruct’ s planning consulting services by integrating advanced technologies such as BIM, Drone Technologies, Photogrammetry, Mobile Apps, AR, AI/ML etc. with progressive construction planning and production tracking principles and methodologies.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Stakeholder Management
a. Lead conversations with our customers and collaborate with project stakeholders to establish realistic timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectations.
b. Provide risk management input on key schedule milestones.
c. Alert entire project team, including owner, to potential problem areas or deviations from the plan. Lead the development of recovery plans, mitigation options, or delay analysis.
d. Coordinate with and include general contractor and subcontractor schedule input and perspectives when applicable.
2. Project Management
a. Develop, update and maintain project schedules to ensure alignment with project objectives, milestones, and deliverables. The schedules should be supported with crew logic, resource loading, cost loading and variance report as required.
b. Utilize advanced scheduling techniques to create detailed and dynamic project schedules, considering resource allocation, sequencing and critical path analysis.
c. Help teams manage a project schedule encompassing preconstruction planning, design development, bid/ buy-out, long lead procurement items, construction sequences, startup, testing & commissioning and final handover.
d. Prepare and present schedule reports, dashboards and analysis to project stakeholders, including project managers, clients and senior leadership, to communicate the construction plan, schedule status, risks and recommendations.
e. Monitor project progress in real time against established schedules using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and data driven dashboards.
3. Technical Excellence
a. Provide expert guidance and support to project teams on scheduling-related matters, including resource optimization, schedule compression, alternate construction methodologies and risk management to optimize the schedule.
b. Establish a database with productivity data and scheduling templates for various construction sequences for projects in India.
c. Spearhead the integration of technology solutions into project management processes, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), construction management software and collaborative platforms, to streamline workflows and enhance project outcomes.
4. Team Development
a. Hire, inspire, develop and grow the planning team.
5. Business Development Support
a. Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business growth objectives, including identifying new business opportunities to expand into our target markets and develop sales strategies.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture or related field. Master’s degree in construction management preferred. Advanced degree or professional certifications is a plus (e.g. Masters, PMP etc.)
2. Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in construction planning and project management.
3. Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
4. Proven leadership capabilities, with experience in leading scheduling teams and driving innovation in a dynamic environment.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing competing priorities and adapting to changing business needs.
7. Strong work ethics and can-do attitude.
8. Willingness to travel within India as required.
9. The candidate should possess deep understanding of:
a. Scheduling methodologies and principles
i. PERT, CPM, Line of Balance, etc.
ii. Levels of details in construction schedule and its applicability with respect to project phases.
iii. Productivity rate evaluation
iv. Progress Tracking
b. Building Systems Construction:
i. Construction methodologies for RCC and steel structures.
ii. Installation of MEP, Low Voltage, Fire Protection, Façade and Elevator systems, Site Utilities and incorporating them effectively in the construction schedule (preferably for Data Centers, Healthcare, Life Sciences buildings).
iii. Site logistics, make ready and mobilization activities.
c. Technologies:
i. Proficiency in project management software tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
ii. Strong technical acumen and familiarity with construction technologies, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), AR, Production tracking applications, Power BI, etc.
iii. Ability to integrate the schedule and BIM model using 4D tools is a plus.
