vConstruct is looking for a Senior Planning Engineer / Assistant Project Manager - Planning to support its Construction Management – India (CMI) business unit, where vConstruct functions as a Project Management Consultant (PMC) for Mixed Use, Healthcare and Hyperscale Data Center projects in India.
vConstruct currently has a team of 500+ people providing services for planning, estimation, project management, design and construction integration (design review, coordination and shop drawing workflows) and as well as enterprise functions for construction companies in USA by leveraging technologies such as BIM, Software Development, Data Science and Analytics, AI/ML etc. with a vision of transforming the construction industry by using technology, vConstruct aims at improving efficiency, enable predictable outcomes and making the build process a pleasurable experience for all.
The Senior Planning Engineer / Assistant Project Manager - Planning will take ownership of leading the planning and coordination related scope of work (Protecting the Plan) based out of project site. This role ensures the project schedule, that is developed and signed off by client, is implemented at site in coordination with vendors /contractors, tracked on a daily basis, reds flags are raised in advance for activities that are critical and preparation of mitigation plans to bring the schedule back on track. The individual will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to deliver the scope from design through commissioning / hand over.
Key Responsibilities -
- Prepare baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project
- Track project progress against baseline and analyze schedule & cost variances (SPI, CPI, BAC, EAC, ETC)
- Perform Earned Value Management (EVM) and forecast project performance outcomes
- Prepare MIS dashboards and single-page executive project performance summaries
- Develop micro schedules to optimize workflow and resource deployment
- Strategize time and cost optimization plans for the Base Build projects (Residential, Commercial etc)
- Plan and track procurement schedules in alignment with baseline
- Prepare / Optimize project logistics to reduce movement inefficiencies
- Conduct site meetings with vendors on daily / weekly basis to understand challenges in implementing the plan and arrive at a catch-up schedule for activities wherever required to keep the baseline dates intact
- Raise red flags wherever there are slippages in dates / commitments by vendors, share the impact of such slippages and keep all the stakeholders informed
- Develop Risk Registers; identify impact and prepare mitigation plans for implementation
- Conduct Value Engineering to identify opportunities for time and cost savings
- Analyze contractor claims and provide strategic recommendations for resolution
- Review and approve contractor schedules; monitor weekly performance and milestone achievement
- Provide interface management to ensure effective communication across internal and external stakeholders
- Present monthly execution summaries to senior management highlighting risks, challenges, and action plans
- Provide strategic inputs to clients to ensure timely, cost-effective and compliant project delivery
Location – Mumbai (Resident and currently working)
Qualifications & Experience
- BE/B.Tech Civil, PG in Construction Management
- Experience on Residential, High-Rise projects in Mumbai (complete project life cycle of at- least 2 projects)
