construction services firm seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for their
Data Science and Analytics team which is a tight-knit group of analysts and
engineers that support all data aspects of business.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer
who can turn complex business challenges into practical, scalable
solutions.
This role requires strong problem-solving ability across the
AI and machine learning landscape. Depending on the problem, the right solution
may involve predictive machine learning, Generative AI, computer vision,
statistical methods, optimization, or a combination of approaches.
You will work closely with engineering, product, and
construction-domain teams to take solutions from problem definition and
experimentation through production deployment and measurable business
impact.
What You’ll Do
- Understand business problems, identify root causes, and define measurable success criteria.
- Select the right technical approach based on the problem—not a preferred technology.
- Build end-to-end AI and ML solutions, from data exploration and experimentation to deployment and monitoring.
- Develop solutions using classical machine learning, deep learning, LLMs, computer vision, forecasting, anomaly detection, and optimization, as relevant.
- Build reliable production systems, APIs, data pipelines, evaluation frameworks, and monitoring capabilities.
- Evaluate solutions against business outcomes, model performance, reliability, latency, scalability, and cost.
- Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, product teams, and domain experts.
- Provide technical direction, review implementations, and mentor team members.
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of experience building machine learning, AI, data science, or intelligent software solutions.
- Proven experience solving ambiguous, real-world problems and delivering solutions into production.
- Strong programming and software engineering skills, particularly in Python.
- Solid foundation in machine learning, statistics, experimentation, and model evaluation.
- Experience across multiple areas such as predictive ML, Generative AI, NLP, computer vision, forecasting, or optimization.
- Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Experience building production ML pipelines, APIs, containerized services, and cloud-based solutions.
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
- Practical understanding of LLMs, RAG, agents, evaluation, guardrails, and their appropriate use cases.
- Ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs to both technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure or other major cloud platforms.
- Experience working with structured, unstructured, visual, time-series, or multimodal data.
- Exposure construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other operationally complex industries.
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical solution design.
